Filming A Lunar Perspective
Filming as a documentation of the performance
This film acts as a form of documentation of the performative reading of A Lunar Perspective
Restaged for filming, I performed the text with the images from Google Earth projected over me. I had not wanted to document the performance live as the space (the North Observatory) was so small that it created an intimate space which would have been disrupted by film equipment - I felt it was important, especially given the sensitive subject matter, that people felt as comfortable as possible within the performance and I think a camera would been an uncomfortable addition to the space
This film acts as a more individual way to encouter the work which can be watched at the viewer’s own pace
The film also makes the performance more accessible by including subtitles, so that the viewer can follow along as the words roll over the images
